ABU DHABI // The heavy fog over the weekend is expected to continue.
Drivers were reminded to take extra care, as weather conditions will lead to reduced visibility on the roads.
“It will be heavy fog today over the west of Abu Dhabi,” said Sufian Farrah, a meteorologist with the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.
“Precautions must be taken because of deterioration of visibility.”
Mr Farrah said the fog would not be as widespread across the country today as it had been at the weekend, and noted that Dubai and Al Ain would experience only light mist.
The cooler weather caused by the fog and heavy cloud cover is also expected to come to an end tonight and tomorrow.
He predicted there would be a slight rise in temperatures to between 26°C and 28°C for coastal areas and about 30°C in inland areas.
Later in the week, strong winds and rough seas are expected, said Mr Farrah.
“Northwesterly winds will start again, but it will accelerate during the night and cause the sea to be wavy and will raise the waves high to be rough on Tuesday night,” said Mr Farrah.
The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are expected have moderate waves today and tomorrow.
