Slightly cooler temperatures are expected on Monday across Abu Dhabi emirate, with the mercury dropping to 45°C from 48°C on Sunday.
Temperatures will remain steady in Dubai, however, with a high of 48°C predicted.
Strong winds started in Abu Dhabi at dawn, though gust started to slow by 8 am.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said the weather will be “hot to very hot over most areas” thoughout Monday into Tuesday.
Hazy weather and partial clouds over eastern and southern areas are also expected to be associated with some rain.
“Moderate to fresh wind in general, causing blowing dust/sand reducing the horizontal visibility especially over the exposed areas,” the centre added.
As for the Arabian and Oman Seas, they are expected to have rough movement until Tuesday.
Sunday night, the centre extended its warning against “fresh southeasterly winds” that could cause blowing dust or sand and poor visibility at times.
