ABU DHABI // Gathering clouds blowing into the country from the west will bring a chance of light rain and significant drop in temperatures this week.
“At this moment there are lots of clouds in the east part of Saudi Arabia and these clouds will be moving gradually over the UAE, starting over the western part of the UAE and moving gradually to cover the scattered areas of the UAE Sunday,” said Dr Ahmed Habib, meteorologist with the National Centre of Meteorology & Seismology. “Some clouds will be towering and give some rain, actually, on Sunday, especially in the west part of the UAE, west of Abu Dhabi.”
The NCMS said the “unstable” weather conditions – towering clouds, chance of rain and strong winds – are expected to continue through at least Wednesday. The sea in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be moderate to rough at times.
“And there will be a drop in the temperatures,” said Dr Habib, noting the cooler weather will be especially felt on Monday. “It will be continuous throughout the week until Wednesday. Monday, it will be a significant drop, maybe six degrees.”
Temperatures along the coast will reach highs between 23 C and 26 C; 26 C and 32 C in the interior and 17 C to 24 C in the mountains. The relative humidity is expected to increase overnight night and early morning, possible forming misty of foggy conditions in some areas.
