ABU DHABI // Hot, humid and hazy conditions are set to persist in the UAE on Wednesday with winds blowing dust over certain regions.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology forecast temperatures as high as 44°C along the coast today and up to 47°C inland.
Humidity levels are also expected to remain high during the night and early morning, reaching 90 per cent along the coast and 85 per cent inland.
Light to moderate winds will blow sand over exposed areas. The wind will be north-easterly to south-easterly with a speed over coastal areas between 18kph to 26kph and in internal regions between 18kph to 30kph.
The hot and humid conditions are forecast to continue into the weekend, with light winds blowing dust.
The highest temperature recorded over the country on Tuesday was 48.6°C in Saih Al Salem at 2.30pm. This morning, the lowest temperature, 24.3ºC, was recorded at 6am over Jais Mountain.
