More than 26,000 underprivileged families in Gaza received iftar meals as part of a UAE charity initiative.
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation distributed the meals to 26,238 families on the 24th and 25th days of Ramadan, reported Wam, the state news agency.
The foundation acted on directives of the President, Sheikh Khalifa, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Foundation, oversaw the initiative.
The distribution was carried out with the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. The aid included rice, chicken, palm dates and yoghurt.
