Abu Dhabi’s retail, restaurant and entertainment space, The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, will launch a new pop-up concept next month, showcasing home-grown fashion, art and culinary innovators.

The Station, which will run from March 2-19, will feature designer booths, gourmet food lorries, and art exhibits.

Beauty stations will also be on hand offering aspiring fashionistas with the latest tips and tutorials while checking out the latest collections from regional jewellers, perfumers and accessory designers too.

Details of workshops and talks are to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Founded by Abu Dhabi-based fashion designer Searina Abdel Kader, The Station was created to offer a unique fashion and lifestyle experience in the capital.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, which is a leading destination to shop, see and be seen.” she says

“My dream was to create an event that didn’t simply have commercial objectives in mind, rather supporting up and coming talent and giving them a platform to sell and showcase their brands. The name reflects the concept as the word ‘station’ refers to a place where a train would usually stop along a railway line. It reflects a temporary transition in one’s life or can be interpreted as the experiential end destination.”

Two of The Station’s key fashion labels include FMM by Fatma Al Mulla, a brand best known for its art-inspired creations, and Kandor T, a unisex line fusing modern and traditional elements of the kandura.

UAE-based Sahar Karmostaji, a make-up artist who builds bespoke make-up boxes will also be present, as will Al Zamen Al Jameel, specialists in the design and export of customised home accessories and gifts.

Entertainment will be provided courtesy of Emirati television personality Azza Al Mughairi, who will broadcast her Indie music show #KeepitrealAzza live from The Station on White Cube Radio.

The Station at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi will run from March 2-19 and be open Sunday to Saturday from 4pm to 10pm and on Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 12am. For more information go to www.thegalleria.ae or follow @thegalleriauae and @thestation on Instagram.
