DUBAI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the model design for a building being constructed for Expo 2020.

The Dh335 million Green Enterprise Command and Control Centre will be used for the management of public transport required for the Expo, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, which will construct the building, said.

The building would have a central control unit for RTA agencies such as the Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, Public Transport, Taxis and Traffic Systems Control Centres.

The centre will span an area of 6,996 square metres, and consist of a ground floor and five stories. Office spaces, an auditorium, a press centre and four utility buildings are also included.

The centre would also conform to green building codes, said Mattar Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of the RTA board of directors.
