ABU DHABI // Sheikh Khalifa, the President, has directed that thousands of new homes and residential plots will be provided to Emiratis in the emirate.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, gave directives for the distribution of 2,048 new homes and 4,495 plots of residential land in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.
The homes include 1,463 residential units in Abu Dhabi, 236 units in Al Ain and 349 units in the Western Region, according to a statement from the General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The residential units were designed in integrated complexes that include community service utilities and an “integrated infrastructure” built to the “best standards to ensure safety and comfort”, the statement read.
As regards land allotments, 2,432 plots are in Abu Dhabi, 1,713 in Al Ain and 350 in the Western Region.
Saif Al Qubaisi, director general of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said the leadership aims to provide all the components of a decent life for its citizens and to mobilise efforts to move forward with comprehensive development plans.
The housing units were designed according to the requirements of the emirate’s sustainability programme and earned the two-pearl grade for architectural complexes and villas, which will ensure the rationing of water and electricity consumption, Mr Al Qubaisi added.
Musabbah Al Marar, acting director general of Abu Dhabi Municipality, thanked the President and Sheikh Mohammed, and said the municipality was mobilising special teams to provide services to beneficiaries.
Twenty counters have been set up at the municipality’s headquarters on Sheikh Zayed Street to hand over the plots and houses to beneficiaries, and help them with the necessary documentation.
