NEW YORK // Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Dr Haider Al Abadi, Prime Minister of Iraq, on Tuesday to discuss cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, the ministers reviewed issues of common interest, along with the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
Dr Al Abadi expressed his country’s gratitude to the UAE for the contributions it has provided to the Iraqi people to improve their humanitarian and economic and conditions, as well as helping in countering terrorism, reported state news agency Wam.
Sheikh Abdullah said the UAE would continue to give assistance to the Iraqi government and people to help the country achieve security and stability.
