DUBAI // A security guard confessed to stabbing his room mate to death but denied planning the murder, the Dubai Criminal Court was told.
“I don’t have any bad history with him and I didn’t plan to kill him. I did attack him and at that specific moment I meant to end his life but I didn’t plan it ahead of time,” said Egyptian S S, 45.
Prosecutors said that on December 18 last year, S S stabbed Nepali D A in the back and chest after taking him by surprise in their room in Al Qusais.
Indian salesman S K, 32, said that on the day of the murder he heard screams coming from outside his apartment.
“I saw a man’s body in a pool of blood on the floor,” said S K, adding that police and an ambulance arrived and took the victim to hospital where he died.
Emirati policeman F A, 28, said S S was arrested the same day. “He confessed to stabbing D A but gave several scenarios about what happened. He said the two had a dispute but did not elaborate.”
Police officer A A, 29, told prosecutors that S S confessed to him that he had planned the murder two days before because D A allegedly sexually assaulted him.
“He told me that if he had the chance, he would have cut his head off,” said A A.
S S asked judges to see a psychiatrist.
The next hearing will be on February 28 to appoint S S a lawyer.
