The Al Habtoor Group has held a sales launch for the Residence Collection of apartments at its US$3 billion Al Habtoor City project at the junction between the Dubai Water Canal and Sheikh Zayed Road.

The Residence Collection is made up of three towers under construction behind a three-hotel complex on the same site.

The residential towers, which have been designed by Atkins, contains two 74-floor towers, Noura and Amna, and a 52-floor tower known as Meera. Combined, the three towers contain more than 1,000 units including 12 penthouses – three of which are VIP penthouses that are each spread over four floors, with two higher levels also offering private entertainment space.

Construction of the towers began two years ago, and Al Habtoor Group has said that handover of the apartments will take place from early to mid- 2017.

“Homeowners are buying something tangible, they are not buying sand,” said Khalaf Al Habtoor, the chairman of Al Habtoor Group.

“They can already see the three residential blocks taking shape on the Dubai skyline. We have already reached nearly 50 floors.

“We are a credible developer that consistently delivers on time, or ahead of schedule. That’s an Al Habtoor promise.”

Al Habtoor Group opened the first of three hotels on the same site – the 234-room St Regis Dubai – last December. A 356-room W Hotel and a Westin with 1,0004 rooms are due to open soon.

It has appointed Tamleek Real Estate to handle sales.

The site will also eventually contain a 35,000 square feet pool deck, fitness centre and a clubhouse, and a marina will eventually be installed once the extension of Dubai Canal completes.

Last month, Damac Properties unveiled plans to build a Dh7.4bn, six-tower complex known as Aykon City on an adjacent site.

It will include an 80-storey hotel and residences tower, a 63-storey serviced hotel apartments and a 60-storey apartment tower, a 65-storey office tower and a pair of 30-storey apartment towers.

The company has already begun sales of hotel rooms in the 63-storey serviced apartments tower.
