DUBAI// A 33-year-old man who trespassed into his neighbour’s home and tried to rape her in her bedroom has been jailed for six months.
On September 4 last year, Emirati K K climbed over the villa’s the wall and sneaked inside via the back door, said prosecutors. He denied a charge of attempted rape and trespassing but was found guilty on Sunday and jailed.
According to records, 44-year-old Emirati victim S A woke up at 4am after feeling someone was in her bedroom.
“The room was poorly lit so I couldn’t see who was there, but he then sat on top of me and placed his hand on my mouth to stop me from screaming, then started talking to me in English,” said the woman, who managed to slide out of bed but was pushed to the ground by K K, at which point she started to talk with him to try to calm him down.
“I told him I was willing to give him what he wanted then asked him if he was married or had any children, but he gave vague answers,” said S A whose son was sleeping next door.
K K allegedly pulled her back to the bed then started kissing and stripping her of her clothes. S A said she was scared but when she felt K K was trying to rape her, she pushed and resisted him then pretended she needed the toilet.
“When I got out of the toilet, the light was reflected on his face and I was able to see it,” said S A who then tried to convince K K she was willing to have sex with him but on another occasion.
S A said K K was convinced when she asked for his mobile number, after which he left the villa and she called police.
Emirati policeman S M said K K confessed when he was arrested later that same day. “But later K K said he wanted to change his confessions,” said S M.
Policeman E S, 39, said K K told him he was having constant problems with his neighbour, S A, because she often reported him to the authorities for building unlicensed additions to his villa.
“He said he sent his wife to try and reason with S A but there was no use so he decided to do what he did in order to scare her,” said E S.
