China’s economy grew 6.9 per cent last year, the slowest in more than two decades. Factories are shedding jobs and migrant workers are desperate to find employment. Those who still have jobs fear they could be next to be shown the door. The government said on Monday that 1.8 million in the coal and steel industries are expected to be laid off.
