DUBAI // FlyDubai will provide “hardship payments” amounting to US$20,000 per passenger to those who lost family members in the FZ981 crash on Saturday.

In a statement, a FlyDubai spokesman said: “At present, our priority is to identify and contact the families of those lost in [the] tragic accident and provide immediate support to those affected.”

The hardship payments are in accordance with the airline’s Conditions of Carriage, “with the aim of addressing immediate financial needs”.

All 62 people on board the flight from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don were killed when the Boeing 737 missed the runway, split into pieces and burst into flames.

Both black boxes were recovered quickly from the debris of the plane in Rostov-On-Don but the cause of the crash was yet to be determined.
