Two Emirati children were rescued from a stuck lift in Umm Al Quwain on Saturday.

Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence dispatched a search-and-rescue team alongside an ambulance to the residential building in King Faisal Street, following a call at 1.45pm.

The four-year-old girl and two-year-old boy, were extracted and returned to their parents uninjured, according to Col Hassan Sarm, director of Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence.

Col Sarm asked parents to avoid letting their children use lifts unattended and that building owners ensure all lifts are properly maintained.
