AL AIN // The General Command of the Armed Forces on Tuesday celebrated the graduation of the fifth batch of national military service and reserve recruits, as well as the 40th anniversary of the Armed Forces unification.
The graduates completed basic training in centres across the country. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and several Armed Forces commanders attended the ceremony, which was held at Seeh Al Hama Training Centre in Al Ain.
Sheikh Hamdan and his brother, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, congratulated their younger brother Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, who was among the graduates.
Sheikh Hamdan posted a selfie on his social media account, saying: “Today the joy is doubled. I congratulate all the graduates. I’m proud of all of you and of you too, my brother, Ahmed bin Mohammed.”
Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Maj Gen Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun, chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority, Mohammed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Lt Gen Hamad Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, also attended with other officers and family members of the graduates.
