ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has announced that its devices for fast payments at petrol stations will be priced from Dh50.
Under its Adnoc Wallet system, customers can pay for petrol using the Smart Tag, the Adnoc Plus cards and Emirates identity cards.
The Smart Tag, linked to customers’ Adnoc Wallet account, is a smart chip installed at the fuel inlet of the vehicles’ fuel tank.
Likewise, the Adnoc Plus cards and customers’ identity cards are linked to the system.
From March 1, the Adnoc Plus card will be available for Dh50, while the Smart Tag will be priced at Dh250.
Both payment options are available to Adnoc Wallet account holders and their cash values can be topped up online.
Adnoc said it would provide complimentary Smart Tags to the first 5,000 customers who register for an Adnoc Wallet account. It will also give out free Adnoc Plus cards.
Customers who register first will have their Emirates identity cards linked to their Adnoc Wallet accounts and activated without charge.
The new payment solutions aim to make it safe and convenient for customers to manage their accounts by using smart mobile devices.
This is part of a seven-month pilot phase of the Adnoc Smart service in the capital that begins next month.
The pilot phase, involving four service stations on Abu Dhabi Island, allows customers to use self-refuelling technology and benefit from the various payment solutions.
