ABU DHABI // Eighteen new judges and prosecutors, including eight Emiratis, took their oath before Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, on Wednesday.

President Sheikh Khalifa takes great interest in strengthening the rule of law and promoting justice as a pillar of the country’s security and economic stability, said Sheikh Mansour, who is also the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

According to state news agency Wam, he said members of the judicial authority should commit themselves to the rule of law and the principle that all people are equal before law, as well as to the protection of rights of people to promote co-existence in the emirate.

The new judges and prosecutors thanked Sheikh Khalifa for his confidence in them, and pledged to enforce the law and to promote access to justice for all.
